Zombie Author Flash! Fiction by David Dunwoody

David Dunwoody
He wanted one red bloom. From the abandoned shop he wanted just one flower, one color that would endure in dusk as it did dawn. For beyond the blue veil, the night and the dark are always there. All else is lies.
The rose withered to gray in his hand. The dead felled the barricades.

David Dunwoody is the author of the Empire zombie series.

It seems to me that this author flash represents something essential or unique about this zombie author. I like the way he explained it as a "constant battle between hope and surrender."
