About Mira Grant

Mira Grant resides in Norther California with her many pets.  Her interests include travel, horror movies, comics, and filking.  She's always had an interest in horror:
In college, she was voted Most Likely to Summon Something Horrible in the Cornfield, and was a founding member of the Horror Movie Sleep-Away Survival Camp, where her record for time survived in the "Swamp Cannibals" scenario remains unchallenged.
Her novels have received wide praise. "Both Feed and Deadline have been nominated for Hugo Awards, as has 'Countdown,' the first novella in the Newsflesh universe."

As Mira Grant explains:
The zombie apocalypse happened more than twenty years ago. Contrary to popular belief, we didn't all die out, largely because we'd had years of horror movies to tell us how to behave when the dead start walking. We fought back, and we won...sort of. The dead still walk; loved ones still try to eat you if you're not careful; the virus that caused the problem in the first place is still incurable. But at least we lived, right? The Newsflesh Trilogy is a story about blogging, politics, medical science, espionage, betrayal, the ties that bind, the ties that don't, how George Romero accidentally saved the world, and, of course, zombies. It's thoughtful horror, and horrific science fiction, and I'm very fond of it.

What Makes Mira Grant Unique?

Mira Grant is not only Mira Grant. She is also Seanan McGuire.
"In her guise as mild-mannered urban fantasy author Seanan McGuire, Mira was the recipient of the 2010 John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. You can find her works as both Mira and Seanan at her main bibliography page. Seanan's website is the best place to find information on where both she and Mira will be appearing."
As Seanan McGuire, Mira has produced a wide range of fantasy works, including the very interesting Sparrow Hill Road series.
